A 1913, before & after Bill Adair...

The pictures do not do Mr. Adair's work justice, that's my fault.

Some of the stampings were light, the "United States Property" was completely hogged out and badly at that. He does not re-stamp any of the markings, but hand engraves them. He also took a currently manufactured MetalForm lanyard loop magazine and gave it the pre-1916 (1915 for Colt's) heat treated look. If you would ever need a restoration, I highly recommend Bill and he is a great guy to work with. He will be getting my 1940 Colt USGI for restoration, without a doubt.

He is very reasonable, I don't really know if he has "flat rates."

Thanks!

I contacted Bill through the link and he quickly replied to me. I can't wait to get this thing shipped out!

By the way, I noted the before" photo appeared to have worn grips. Did he restore the originals or are they replacement?

Many thanks!
Brian

Thank you sir.

The stocks that are on it, come from Cylinder & Slide

CS268 - Reproduction of the 1911 Colt issue Double Diamond Checkered Grip.

Bill did repair the originals, so well you can't tell there was anything wrong with them.

1913 Colt

Just seein' that beautiful old girl returned to her former glory...brings a tear to this ugly old armorer's eye.

Thanks Tuner.
To say I'm happy with the outcome, would truly be an understatement.
