Black Stainless

I ran across a deal on a Used Black Stainless Yesterday.
It just kept calling me.
It has Novacks Fixed Sights, and does not have the Ambi. safety.
These were the two things that I did not like on the SS Loaded that I had. Adj. Sights, & Ambi Safety.
I put thicker grips on it and we went to the range. Of course I striped it to check for wear and Lube.
Judging from the inside it was fired very little, it has a 2005 date stamp on the side of the frame. The outside is almost flawless, one light scratch under the slide release, "I Wonder How That Got There?"
Someone must have bought it, shot it a few times, and traded for something lighter or less recoil, or something.
Oh well I hope they are happy with what they got, because I sure am happy with what I have.
By the way we went through 400 rounds between this one and my mil-spec. 300 FMJ & 100 HP no problems at all. Three different brands of Mags, Three different brands of shells.
"I Think She's A Keeper!!"

Both The Mil-Spec and The Black Stainless were great for Accuracy. Probably a lot more than me. Both from a rest and Free Standing could not tell any difference between the two. From up close out to 25 yards. They are not bullseye Target guns, but I'm not either. they are plenty accurate for what I want.
So far the finish is holding up just fine, no signs of wear.

John & Gunny
I don't have a digital camera.
I keep spending my extra money on Pistols and Ammo.
All the photo equipment I have is like me it's old and outdated.
I can't figure where to plug a cable into my 35mm camera.

Rusty, just take your gun into your local Kinko's and have them lay it on a flatbed scanner for you. I'm sure they'll understand. LOL

Thanks a lot Tom, but I think I'll pass.
They just don"t seem to understand.
When you drop the mag and rack the slide, everything is OK!!
They just don't like it!! Hmm Don't know why??

Both of my Springers are like Pin Up Girls.
Pictures are Posted by Springfield.
PB9151L & PX9154L

rusty, you have the exact two that i have been debating about for some time now, i hope to same day have both too, im really leaning toward the black stainless, but the determining factor will be holding both of them at the local dealer

Springfield 1911 SS
I started out with a loaded model.
Adj sights, ambi safety, Speed bump on the grip safety, was too high. made it painful to shoot. Just didn't like the sights. Saw no reason for the ambi safety, I'm right handed. Me and the Loaded just didn't get along.
Went to another Gun Show and found the SS Mil-Spec. Liked it much more, It followed me home. I wanted to make changes on it, Beaver tail and hammer and longer trigger.
Went to another Gun Show, they had a used Black Stainless. It had all the changes I was going to make to the Mil-Spec, and the Black SS too. So this one followed me home too. They are both keepers, I am still thinking of making the changes to the Mil-Spec, they would look more alike.
I've put a set of Stag Grips on the Mil-Spec, from Eagle Grips They look Great.
