I have so many questions; I don’t know where to begin.

First off, I’ve gone from a junior member to a member. I think it was when I had reached a post count of fifty.

(I don’t pay any attention to post counts)

I’ve looked over the faq pages until my eyeballs become crossed and I haven’t found any info on this. You might want to post something on how, what, why, and how much post counts achieved does in your faq pages.

Another question is, I see the cartridge displayed with M1911 org Donor on it. What does one do to become a Donor?

Does one use this on other forums to promote the 1911-A1 forum? Sounds like a good idea to me. I’ve referred several people to this forum and I hope this is all right.

I hear you brother! I had the same thing happen to me.....junior member to member. I am a donor, I got that status when I contributed some scratch to John for the purpose of perpetuating his wonderful forum. But what's the diff betwixt a 'donor' and a 'contributor'??

Gentlemen,

The title Member, Junior Member, Old Timer, etc. are going by the post count. Obviously, the more time you spend here, and the more you participate in our discussions, the more you learn.

As for the three contributor categories, and the associated medals, one gets them if he/she donates to the cause (maintaining and improving M1911.ORG). There is a "Donations" link, at the top right corner of every page here, right under the picture of Mr. Browning. The difference between the bronze, silver and golden medal, defines the total donations you have contributed. If memory serves me right, up to 40$ you get the bronze medal, from 41 to 100$ you get the silver, and above that, you get the golden one.

I think that I need to expand these categories a little, to cover one particular member, whose generocity has been so extreme, that left me speechless. He knows who I am talking about, and until I do find that special medal for him, I just send him my most sincere "Thanks", like I do of course, for all of those who contribute, even if the donation is 10$. Every little bit help.

OK, I think I answered two of your questions, let's here the rest of them.

I get lost in the vast expanse of the forum while traversing from forum-to-forum. I think I may have spent a few hours looking around last night. What amazes me is the amount of topics and what they cover. I’ve posted a lot when I first joined, and laid back some while busy at home. At the moment, I cant remember any more questions I had on my mind, but I will try to post them when they come to mind. I will try to post more, but I don’t want to blab as I have at times. (It happens when ya get to be of age.) Thank you both for answering my questions. I will try to contribute when I can afford too and when I find a way to send a check. I don’t want to use Paypal.

How about the "John Moses Browning Memorial Trophy" awarded to the person who has gone above and beyond in service to the 1911 community. Take the head and shoulders photo from the top right of the forum page and photoshop it into a gold or platinum statue?

Hawkmoon, remember when the first "gold" credit cards were introduced? How much having one in your wallet meant you were "somebody"? You were "Da Man".

Then when gold wasn't good enough, all the companies rushed out platinum cards. Everyone had a gold card - they were a dime a dozen. Now you HAD to have the Platinum cards ...

I guess when we run out of precious metals to dole out we can switch to gemstones. Ruby level, sapphire level - all the way up to diamond.

Beyond that, you're on your own.

But instead of metal or gemstone levels, you could use bullet calibers! Start out at the .22LR level, increasing your way up through the 9mm and .380 calibers until you reach, naturally, the .45ACP level. Heck, if you throw in Guncrafter's product line-up, you could even add the all-coveted .50GI level!

I think you’re all missing a good point that I mentioned.



I’m a member of OutdoorsBest, Florida Sportsman Magazine forum and I think it would be a good idea to carry an emblem from the M1911 pistols Organization web site over there along with the link below it as a part of my signature. It could say Member on the bottom, I don’t know how to photo shop this and I don’t know if this is allowed.

It is also an International forum consisting of members who fish, hunt, and gun ownership members who shoot and collect guns. It has 58672 users, 441890 threads, and 5270182 posts.

On this forum, I participated in another’s topic of his query on purchasing a 1911-A1 45 that went to the second page within the first day. This wasn’t even posted in the guns and ammo section. I IM’d the author and another member this web site’s link after they had asked for it in an IM.
