Norinco buying advice
Hello all, new to the forum, but I've been harvesting info from you all for a while. I've put a hold a Norinco 1911a1 at my local shop. Upon initial inspection, it looks around 90 percent with orig. blueing. It looks to be all original. It is really clean & all the safeties work fine. It does have a little play as far as the slide to frame fit. I have not yet field stripped it, and was wondering what to look for as far as lug wear & such. I also recall Tuner giving some info on checking barrel spacing w/ a spent cartridge, but can't seem to find that thread now. The price appears good at 300.

$300US seems like a good price for what they go for your way. Aside from the potential barrel problem, which I would not worry about, you can always replace the barrel, I just did, and other parts as you see fit. The Norks are built like tanks and are good solid guns. You likely in time will change out the sights and I have yet to shoot a Norinco that could not stand a good trigger job but that is not a must do. I do know mine fed everything I could throw at them right out of the box. A good buy for a mil-spec gun that you likely will give to your kids.
Good luck and let us know how she shoots. Take Care

Yes, three hundred dollars ($300) is a good price. I would say that you could spend quite a lot of time looking for one that’s on the market at any price. There was a report of one at a gun show in Florida and the asking price was eight hundred dollars ($800). I’d feel lucky to find one for five hundred dollars ($500).
In a complicated trade with a gunsmith friend of mine, my cost was around $200 to $300 and both of us were happy with the trade.

I agree $300.00 seems like a very good price if it is in 90% condition I just bought 2 and gave $400.00 for each of them both of mine were NIB and came with all paperwork still sealed in plastic so sounds like you would be getting a good deal
