Please note that the forums in this category are to be used to ask questions or to show us pistols from these manufacturers. They can also be used to ask questions about the parts of a particular pistol from one of these manufacturers, as long as the question relates to the original parts.

  • If your pistol malfunctions and you want to ask for help on how to troubleshoot it, post your question in the "Gunsmithing and Refinishing" forum, not in this one.
  • If you want to ask questions about after-market parts, these questions should go in the "Parts - Grips" forum, not in the manufacturers forums.
  • If you want to ask questions about after-market magazines, these questions should go in the "Magazines" forum, not in these forums.
  • If you want to ask questions about holsters, those questions should go in the "Holsters" forum, not in these forums.
  • If you want to ask questions about conversion kits, those questions should go in the "Conversion Kits" forum, not these forums.
  • If you want to ask questions about which ammo to use with your pistol, those questions should be posted in the "Ammo" forum, not these forums.

Messages with questions for after-market parts, magazines, holsters, conversion kits, ammo etc. will be moved to the proper forum and a warning will be issued.

Armscor Philipine Mahagony Grips: Got 'Em!

...and they are beautiful... They, too, seem to be matched closely in grain between each half. Ivan also sent me a cool Armscor and Rock Island Armory decal! For $10.95/pair + $3.00 total shipping... about the best dang value I've EVER gotten on grips. Show to be Philipine Mahagony, called "Armscor Classic Hardwood Grip".

That they are. And I'm proud of them. My Parked Springer is fixin' to be re-gripped with Armscor Classic Hardwood Grips... LOL...

This just for y'all's information. Service was great, shipping was fast, and price was definitely right.

Y'all all take care and be safe.
Mick

Evenin' RustyG...

I know. I'm just hoping that the fans of the 1911 are seeing that RIA/Armscor is a very, very viable choice for a functioning, well-made brand, that currently is not so well-known... and that the pricing is very, very reasonable for a basic meat and potatoes 1911, which is RIGHT up my alley. I don't think any of my gun buddies had ever HEARD of Rock Island or Armscor, and the gunsmith is, like, "Mr. 1911"--retired Navy and police department armorer, as well as gunsmith... he favors "assembling" parts from Auto Ordinance/Kahr Arms, but, sometimes, they have various feed issues. I'm not knocking him or the brand, it's just a fact. Another fact is, that I believe my NEXT 1911A1, new manufacture, will be another Rock. I'd like to get ahold of one that's either ss or blued, as opposed to Parked, though.

I'm seriously now considering leaving my current one Parked. It's TOTALLY Parked, barrel and all; the one I gave my dad, did have the ss barrel, and that is why I gave that one to him, easier to maintain for the ol' man... LOL... But, mine's been one functioning little shooter, as you know. I just don't know if I want to risk messing up a fine out of the box little shooter.

Maybe, if a lot of people start buying the Armscors... hee hee... our prices will um, stay very reasonable. I sure hope they do until I can acquire my FOURTH.

You and all y'all take care and be safe.
Mick

Mick you need to call Ivan and get him to come on line here a check out the people that buy his products. The Para rep. is George Wedge and he is here alot and returned my e-mail very promptly. How about posting the contact info for Ivan for the rest of us. I may have to get a set of them grips to torch.

Hey, Bro...

What I did was e-mail this address: armscor@armscor.net ... Ivan was the person who responded to my e-mail, in re: my grips. I go this far, in respect to Ivan: I believe he is the major contact person for parts and stuff, but, I neglect to give out his phone number at work, out of respect. Do that, and you will hear from him or another representative, asking you to contact them via phone. I believe they are in Nevada.

They are very lovely grips, as I said... and they have other things, as well, like towels and stuff related to the Armscor line of firearms. Talking with Ivan was a very pleasant experience, really. He was happy to hear, when I placed my order, that I had a Rock Island 1911A1 that I found to be one heckuva shooter! I think they're getting aware, that WE are finding them... The two I've bought, not direct but from GunBroker.Com, and the grips... are so totally reasonable... for great products... VERY close to my heart and mind. Very.

Hope this helps, Bro Animal. You and yours take care and be safe.
Mick

Thanks Mick, just what I wanted. Here is something that may intrest you. I'm going to post round two on the Bar-B-Que grips. The old Kimber grips with "sharp" checkering. Not any more.
