Old or New 1911PKZ?

I read read that there are at least two versions of the 1911PKZ. The PKZ and the PKZSE are the ones I know of. How do I know which one I have? Did the Model Number Change on the packaging? I just bought mine in Dec. 2005 and the empty round is dated 02/28/04 and the Model number on the box and manual are 1911PKZ.

I live in Massachusetts and just picked up a new AO 1911A1 last night - box is marked 1911PKZMA with the spent casing package dated December 2005. Overall looks great - broke it down, cleaned all the factory grease off of it - reoiled - can't waiting to go to the range tomorrow. Three things bugged me, the thumb safety seems a little tough to disengage, magazine will not drop free when mag release button engaged and the plastic grips look like they belong on a cap gun. Will post pictures and review after first range session. Wish me luck!

that's a new one doodle. it should have series 80 fp safety parts.

Never made it to the range last Saturday - maybe this weekend - the temperture is going to hit 60 degress here in Massachusetts - the wait is killing me. I did swap out the trigger for a WWII GI stamped parkerized trigger and added WWII/Korea era colt grips. The AO series 80's components look just like ones in the Colt. I had the thing stripped down and reassembled in less that 30 minutes thanks to information from this site. Purchased a new GI surplus magazine too - drops free like a magazine should - unlike the parked AO mag. Will post pictures of my 'new' 1911A1 as soon as I can. Looks just like real GI issue now. Hope it functions as good as it looks.
