Question
COLT 1911A1 availability

A couple of months ago I ask my local FFL (Northern Sierras of California) to find a COLT 1911A1. After a few weeks of waiting and I was also looking at a few shops in Northern California with no luck. I ask him to purchase me an RIA and at the same time to keep looking for a COLT. I have the RIA and like it so far, but would also like a COLT. I fear time is running out in California for the purchase of COLT due to new laws enacted by the previous administration (wasn't that Gray Davis a fun SOB). Does anyone know why the COLT models seem to be in such short (or no) supply. I capitilized COLT, because I called one gun shop and ask if they had in COLT 1911 45's in stock and they said; "yes we have a number in stock" when I got there they had 1911's, Kimbers, Springfield, Smith and Wesson; and when ask, said these are "colts".
Thanks,
Rick

The shortage of genuine Colts in California may be due to the relatively low number of Colts being made and also (and most likely) the drop test required by California.

www.snipercountrpx.com

My Replica was $9 shipping, and my Neos $15, and that's for overnight delivery on both. Cheap prices, no tax, low shipping.

secession

Has California ever considered seceding from the union? Your state is a country on its own. Some of the gun laws are ridiculous. The drop test is one of them. That test is precisely why you are going to be pressed to find a Colt there.
