I have a DE, and like it very much. For what minty DEs cost today ($700-$900), you can get a Razorback? If you are a fan of "features" on your 1911, then the DW will please you with beavertail, etc. They haven't been in the 1911 business for very long, but if they have a good warranty, that might not be a great concern.

The only problem I've had with the DE I had is that the area on the slide near the Series 80 firing pin plunger, the hammer peened the heck out it. I have not shot the DW 10mm, but I like the idea of not having the Series 80 parts. I also like the customer service with Dan Wesson.

stumbler - I had the same peening problem with mine. I sent the gun back to Colt, and they replaced the slide, no charge.

I have since traded the DE to Jim Clark (years ago). I am now assembling (I hate to say building) a .38 Super. When finished, the next purchase for me will be a Dan Wesson RZ-10. I just have to convince the wife to let me buy one for my birthday (so far I'm up to 105 years old in birthdays).

I have a Delta Elite, no peening problem, but I did remove the firing pin safety parts. I have not even seen a Razorback around here. DW's are very scarce in this part of the country. In fact, I have seen more new production Colt 1911's than DW's. I have, in the past three months, seen exactly three new Colts. I have seen a bazillion new Kimbers.
