    While it's never been part of my law practice to modify handguns, it has been my personal practice to install short triggers in my 1911s (and often swap grips), but I guess that doesn't count.

    I haven't added any safety devices however. Well maybe you could count the training I've taken as "installing a safety device" between my ears.
