That's a great looking Govt. length WE 1911... not sure if the laynard loop is correct, strictly speaking, but who cares?
Is it all metal (frame/slide/barrel)?
Some airsoft sites recommend loading the magazine with 2-3 short squirts of gas, a couple of seconds each. I can't say I've noticed a difference, doing it this way or with a single, long squirt - ALWAYS with magazine and gas canister upside down.
If the magazine doesn't have a rubber O-ring around the filling nozzle, you may have a lot of gas escaping while you fill up. I use a plastic adapter, intended (and sold with) a canister of butane gas for lighters (don't use such gas in your pistol!). Some members have disassembled old disposable lighters, to take a suitable O-ring and place it around the magazine's filling nozzle. I haven't tried that (I don't smoke, not many lighters in the house), but judging by how nicely my O-ring - equipped airsoft mags load, I have to say it sounds like a good idea.
Of course, if you eventually buy a converter for propane gas canisters (like John and many others here have done), you won't need any of the above, since the filling nozzle in these converters is plastic. If you don't know this already, Green Gas is Propane, with a little bit of silicon oil added, for lubrication. So a propane canister, with a few drops of silicon oil every few magazine loads, is a much cheaper way to keep your airsoft pistol running.
The forum has a lot of information on this, and pretty much any other airsoft issues.
Too many people miss the silver lining because they're expecting gold.
