Hey all,
A buddy of mine got a hold of a citadel 1911 and when racking the slide the hammer only cocks once in a while. We are new to 1911s. Is there an issue or is it because of not having ammo in the gun?

That is not right (it is an issue)
I would strongly advise not loading it until it is figured out.
Is this a new pistol?
Has it been torn down?
Getting the flat (sear) spring behind the mainspring housing in wrong can cause that (among other things).

Its not brand new only a few rounds put through it and i believe the guy had tore it down recently. He must not have assemble it properly. I will take a look and see. How should the sear be seated properly? Sorry for not knowing to much Ive only ever field stripped a 1911 before.
It's the sear spring and here's how it looks when properly installed:Originally Posted by SeeAreEx

Yep,
Handy with colored pencils too...
Yupp....Dan's illustrations have helped me immensely in the past, and still do.

I could send some of my cave drawings on the back of Starbuck's receipts, but I doubt it would help...Robert
Still think Dan's drawings should be collected and stickied. What a resource.
Trying to find one part of the system on the blueprints is umm uh...challenging.
