Has anyone see and/or shot any of the new Iver Johnson 1911's? I'm really interested in their commander sized Hawk model.

Keep watching the forum for an announcement. The "other" version of the Hawk (the Trojan) was just reviewed, and the results should be published in the Model 1911 Organization E-zine shortly.Originally Posted by Aiden528

Mr. Taffin's review covered the "Eagle", "Hawk", and "1911A1" pistols, which were pre-production models sent to him by Iver Johnson.Originally Posted by feathers73

But, feathers73, you are correct.

I have the Handgunners issue that J. Taffin did which is how I first heard about them.
Awesome article Slim! The wear on the frame and lugs would have me a little concerned also. Would you recommend the Trojan (or preferably the Hawk) to a new 1911 owner who wants to carry concealed? I've looked at Wilson, and Kimber but price wise the Ivers Johnson is closer to my budget right now.Originally Posted by Rio Vista Slim
Just bought the Iver Johnson 1911 Eagle at my local gun show this past weekend! Beautiful gun! Upgraded slide which is also hand fitted, nice wood stocks, beavertail, blued matte finish, 5" barrel. Bought the gun for $525. for this price you will not find a better gun! Shot about 50 rounds through it with no issue. The dealer was even selling the Trojan version for $450. you cannot get this quality gun for these prices. Now im not saying this gun is better then a quality colt or kimber but for the money the quality is great.
