Like so many who undertake arduous journeys, I left a city of wise men and came back to a polis of fools. Ignorance, like time, brooks no returns.
I think I was clear.
A Smith & Alexander magwell. Reputable firm, quality products, right?
A Springfield pistol. Well-known to be "in spec".
The two didn't fit together. Who should I blame? The frame or the part? Tolerances stacking can play havoc to the best intentions.
None of the dimensions you mentioned were not critical to the functioning of the pistol. With one possible exception.
