    springfield compact "night .45" ?

Anybody heard of a "night .45". I just acquired one and I can't find out anything about it. I have looked this forum over and searched on the internet. It appears to be a blued compact .45 auto by springfield. It has a crescent moon and the logo night .45 on the left of the slide just above the slide release lever. I was wondering about value and approximately when this pistol was made.

From what I've read the Night 45 was produced from December 1995 to October 1996 and there was a total of 417 produced altogether . I've seen one or two priced about $ 700.00 US .

Here's a quote I found on the www.thehighroad.org forum " There were two "Night .45" models made by Springfield Armory and distributed by Lew Horton. They had alloy frames, tritium sights, Videcki triggers, and a matte finish.

One was full size, the other was a compact model with an Officer's Model grip frame with a 4" barrel. "

Sorry I can't locate a photo for you and I hope this info helps you .

I Have a "Night 45" fullsize, allthought I have long since customized it. It was a Lightweight "Lew Horton" model with tritium sights, and rub "wrap around" houge grips, Nothin real special about it though, so I made it what I wanted.
