    Colt 01070XSE???

Been saving my pennies for a Springfield TRP or Les Baer Premier II. Had not considered the Colt. What kind of accuracy/reliablity can one expect out of a 5" XSE? Colt doesn't show prices on their website what is the MSRP on one? They show the sights as white dot front and white dot rear. Is it a three dot?

    Thanks

Accuracy and Reliability both very good. Each of my colts has been 100% out of the box.

The sights will be champion brand Novak style with three dots. The dots are actually white inserts as opposed to paint dots.

I am not certain about MSRP, about $975.00 IIRC, Street price is $850-$900.00.

My vote goes for the Colt though I do not have an XSE. All of my Colts have been excellent since day 1.

I noticed that Bud's Gun Shop has the full size XO1070XSE listed in stock for $828. My .45 XSE Stainless Combat Commander was very accurate right out of the box as was my XSE Lightweight Commander in .38 Super. Both have the three dot sights.

Clughog, nice pic of the top of the slide! The Colt would probably be the cheapest of the 2 other models you listed.

You can obtain the MSRP and the actual prices that your area FFL's charge, on Gallery of Guns. Bud's has some of the lowest mail order prices.

I haven't bought from AJC Sports, but others here have and their prices are about the same as Bud's. I have bought about 3 Colt's from Bud's and they do a good job on prices and service.

Though the Les Baer is more than likely the most accurate of the three, it is not $1200 dollars worth better than the Colt to me. Springfield uses more mim parts than Colt.

One pistol I'd take though over any of your choices is a Colt Special Combat Government. You get the performance of a Les Baer or Nighthawk but at a fraction of the cost.

I finally got my 5" blue XSE to the range. Didn't have much time.

From 7 yards, the first magazine of ball ammo went into the X-ring of a B-27 target. It shoots right where I look.

50 rounds of W-W ball, and 40 rounds of Federal Hydra-Shoks.
No failures. None. Zip. Zero. Zilch. Nada.

I'd say, skip the high-dollar clones...buy TWO Colts.
