john,
Does it sound like my niece's name Kimberly????hehehehe
niceone,
what's stoppingt us from making a tradition of our norincos from now on....id say love your norinco and shoot it til kingdome comes. am sure proud owners of colts wont do that to their expensive guns.
Too many people get caught up in the NAME thing. It really doesn't matter what name is on a pistol, as long as the quality is good.
I love my Colts, but the Norinco will NOT be a red headed step child!
My late mentor, Harry Deal, who just about taught me everything I know about the M1911 pistol (May God bless him and allow him to rest in peace) told me within 2 years after Norinco's stated being imported into the U.S. that they had some of the hardest steel that he's EVER seen in a 1911 from any other maunufacturer. I had asked him his opinion about them before I got one, which after thalking to him I did.
To bevel the magazine well I had to use my Dremel tool with a grinding stone, well actually I had to use 4 to finally get the angle whwere I wanted it then finished it with the sanding block and polisher then cold blued it. I had to use a grinding stone to lower and relieve the exection port too finishing in the same way.
I'm not a scientist, but I can speak to the steel in the Norinco being harder than any I've seen before anecdotally.
Training to win because failure is not an option.
