I would definitely go with Springfield. Maybe there is one of those longslides left in Holland and Johan has found it.

Hello Dee Dee i think that you are wrong because if you look at the Springfield site (1911 A1 pistols) then you will see that they advertise with big letters "Springfields NEW 6" longslide custum loaded etc etc.. or am i wrong and is their site out of date, i don't think so because i'm also read some new articles were they test this gun, and they give it much credit.

It's not new but it's still there. They are pretty good at removing models from their site once it's discontinued and as you've seen, it's right there.

They used to have the longslide available in .45 Super as well as .45 ACP but that option has been dropped a few years ago. Porting was an option as well.

Anyway, I think you're okay if you want the Springfield. The Olympic Arms 6" is cheaper and I would like to give it a chance but the bottom line is that their 1911's aren't that popular for whatever reason. This is why people will steer you towards the Springfield. It's a safer bet.

Ok, thanks for the advise Hivelsword, today i receive some info and a gun shop here in Holland gan get me a .45 Acp Springfield Longslide for 1550 Euro's,max, with a delivery time of 3 months and the Safari wil cost 1180 Euro (in stock)( both much more expensive then in the US) and to reflection, indeed wishful thinking but in Holland 10mm is still forbidden, it's a shame.....
