Frame refinishing on Sig alloy frame

What are my options on getting the frames refinished on two police trade in P226's, at a semi reasonable price. I would prefer to send in the whole frame and have the vendor do the disassembly before the refinishing.

I had a friend send in an older SIG for refinishing and, for a reasonable price, they refinished and also replaced the worn parts. Give 'em a call.

Sig just rebuilt the P226's internals, and also put in the SRT. Sig doesn't refinish the frames, they do the slides not the frames.

Can a SIG frame be re-anodized? My LGS told me that SIG won't do it because it changes the tolerances of the frame leading to malfunctions. I have no idea if this is true. Anyone know?

Anodizing is not an applied coating, it's a chemical conversion of the outermost layer of the base metal. In order to re-anodize, the first layer has to be mechanically removed, and that obviously affects dimensions and tolerances. IMHO the most practical way to refinish an aluminum alloy receiver is Duracoat.

I recently learned that Anodizing also add hardness to the Alumnium.
So I would check with Sig as they used to do refinish on their firearms.
Second choice is you could try CCR. They have a good following on the Sig Forum.
