Welcome aboard! These pictures are a bit too small, though. If they're meant to open to larger ones, they don't work.

EDIT: never mind, I fixed the links for you.
Too many people miss the silver lining because they're expecting gold.

Thanks Spyros! That's what I was after. First forum post and first attempt at using photobucket.

Welcome, masmokemarc. I'm fairly new here too, and the members have already helped me. Great group.
Norinco? Thats a brand I've never heard of. Where is it made? 45ACP?

Thanks Bert-tpsrr, Norincos are made in China. Mine is a np29 chambered in 9mm, the np30 is chambered in 45acp.

    Welcome to our forum.

I owned an old used and abused NORINCO several years ago, at it was an excellent shooter.
Stupidly I sold it mainly because I could not stand the "Made in China" rollmark on an American style pistol.
Anyway NORINCO makes pretty tough reliable copies of the US M1911A1 perhaps better quality steel than a WWII model, they come with hard chromed barrels, those pistols are available here in Europe and in Canada, but I think they are currently banned from being imported in your country (I believe that was part of the Clinton AWB enacted in 1994).

Full size SIG Sauers and classic USGI 1911s have always been among my favourite guns; I never stop learning, and after almost 38 years of guns-ownership I still enjoy shooting my own reloadings at IDPA ranges at least twice a week.
This is one of the best gun forums among the several I belong to, hope you'll enjoy your time here.

    Shoot safe.

Before you start collecting 1911s .... buy books! Don't collect something that you'll be forever making excuses for, be careful not to get drawn to a piece that is not original, and buy the gun not the story.
