Over the weekend I had occasion to try to answer a question about 1911 magazines and somebody chimed in with "Wilson Combat mags are the best." When I said "Which ones, they offer three different lines?" I was rewarded with a typical deer-in-headlights look.
I went to Wilson's web site to get links to the 47Ds, the ETMs, and the Service Plus mags, and I couldn't find the Service Plus on the site. For those who aren't familiar with them the Wilson Service Plus magazines are stainless steel, 7-round magazines with the original, Browning-designed follower and GI feed lips.
I sent in a "Contact Us" inquiry to Wilson Combat, and I just received a reply:
So we have lost another source of proper, Browning-designed GI pattern magazines. Fortunately, Check-Mate still offers them.Hawkmoon, Currently discontinued the Service plus magazines as the 47 series magazine is our best series of 7 round magazine. We do apologize for this. Please let us know if there is anything else we can help you with. Thank you
