    Special combat govt fit

How's the slide to frame fit on these guns? Looking for a higher end 1911 and that's one thing that's always bothered me about the bright stainless 38 super that I own.

I have a hard chrome and a 2 tone, neither of which I would say has a snug fit to the slide/frame fit.
    Best wishes.

I have a 2006 in 45 and hardchrome that is very nice. It is not a Baer but very nice.

I have looked at several over the years and I would still suggest one look before they buy.

I care much more about how they function (reliability) and shoot (accuracy), than how they feel when you wiggle the parts together by hand.

I believe that Colt has things pretty well worked out as far as reliability and accuracy goes.

Mine are reliable and have never given me any malfunctions. The accuracy from the three (two 45's one 38S) I have owned (two currently) has been slightly disappointing. (but not dismal)

Oh my super has been nothing but reliable. Fit and finish is a concern when I'm spending that much money though.
