    Back from the abys

Hello all, I have been away since 2013 and have finally made it back. Why was I gone.. well a very good friend and gunsmith made some bad choices that resulted in the loss of his shop, ffl and freedom. It also resulted in the confiscation of several of my firearms including but not limited to 2 1911's and a couple AR's. That were in his shop. Until recently I did not have the heart to spend anymore cash on firearms so I simply had my 2 carry pieces and a shotgun.

Luckily my first 1911 which started life as a baseven Rock Island stayed on my side and was not taken.

Glad you're back! Sad to hear. So no way to get the guns back from the Feds?

It's unfortunate that your friend chose poorly. How badly did he mess things up? If he was an FFL and a gunsmith, your guns should have been logged in his bound book and there should be no question that they are your firearms.

Welcome back to our 1911 forum, and good luck for the future.
Originality can't be restored, so put "originality" at the top of a priority list. If JMB didn't put it on the 1911 you don't need it.

! That . Any way to get them back?

Nice Shield BTW. The .45 shoots so nicely. I have the Shield 9, and it's one snappy little dude.
