    Sig 1911 .22lr conversion unit

NOTE: While the kit described below is marketed by SIG, I think this thread is better directed at the general 1911 brand folks rather than only at SIG 1911 owners. If the moderators disagree, please move it to where you think it fits best.

SIG retails a 1911 .22LR conversion unit for full size 1911 .45ACP pistols for $302. They had them on sale for $199 but are out of stock.

A couple of days ago, CDNN Investments began offering them NIB for $149.99. I called CDNN and asked if they'd work on 1911's other than SIG and was told they'll work on most makes. I'll soon find out as I ordered one.

Looking at the units, they appear to be made by German Sport Guns (GSG) who market their full size dedicated .22LR 1911 pistols under their own name as well as SIG branded models. In fact, the magazine in the CZ kit looks to be identical to the one for the GSG 1911.

I have one of the SIG kits to convert their P-229 to .22LR and through hundreds of rounds it's been perfect. I expect the SIG 1911 kit to work just as well.

Thanks for the info, let us know how the conversion goes. At that price point, the conversion would take some serious consideration.

It's scheduled for delivery this Thursday so I'll be able to comment by the weekend.
