    Sights for Norinco 1911A1

Hello everyone, i think this is my first post but i read a lot here.

So the problem is I have one of the new Norincos 1911 Goverment model (the one with wide front and back serrations) but ive been looking like crazy for a DROP-IN (or kinda drop-in with minimal gunsmithing required) sights, any sights will do they dont even have to be night sights, i just cant stand the de-painted orange on my front sight.

Anyways thanks for you guys for sharing your knowledge and for reading my terrible english (im from Argentina).

Really like to help you, but, here in the land of the free, we are restricted from any new Norinco 1911 govt pistols. Maybe someone with more international connections can help.

Since you have a newer Norinco, this website might be your best bet: http://www.canadiangunnutz.com/

Would to see a pic or two of your newer Norinco.

Here's several hits within the Canadian forum regarding Norinco sights: https://www.google.com/search?site=&...i3.LaQepXHR8TU

I'm looking for night sights too. My understanding is they need to be "stake on" sights. I found this website:
    http://ads.midwayusa.com/product/357...FdY8gQodjh8OAA

I've asked them if these sights will fit the Norinco M1911A1 and I'm waiting on an answer. I'll advise.

The answer I got from MidwayUSA was to speak with the manufacturer...LOL...I don't speak Chinese. Anyway my Norinco appears to have a staked on front sight.
I've settled on the sight in my link above.

The approach I took was to have a gunsmith mill a front dovetail (he went through 3 cutters!) and install somewhat taller and larger "old man" sights. Not sure if the original front was staked type or very small machined sight. But the larger sights sure made a difference. For marginal/low light I just took advantage of Crimson Trace's refurb sale and got the Master Series wood lasergrips.

Nicely done. Quite a few young men like such sights, too.
Too many people miss the silver lining because they're expecting gold.
