    It is stainless steel and has an "M" marked near the hole for the pin.

    According to this eBay auction it is from a Springfield Commander (could be other models). 231901020662

    That is interesting. If SA I wonder if that was back when it would have been made by Imbel in Brazil. I took this picture for another thread on hammers but the hammer and strut at the bottom is from a SA Range Officer (5 inch) made in 2014. The hammer and strut in the the middle is from a 1980 Colt Combat Commander by the way.

    Some 1911 makers use struts that omit the cylindrical bit at the bottom end. I know my Para came with such a strut. It works OK, but on reassembly some extra care is needed, to ensure the bottom end doesn't sit off-center on the side of the mainspring cap... not the end of the world. If you get it wrong, an odd 'twang' as you pull the trigger is the giveaway, IIRC.
