    Icon17 I'll try to post a pic.

I'll try to post a pic of the gun oil I used in the Army in '70-'76. I haven't ever had any rust or corrosion with it. This quart cost me 6 bucks and change. I put in the little needle topped bottles. I suppose there are lots and lots of good oils around, but I think I'll stick with this stuff. If the pic don't load, it is O-190 PL-S lube oil. Army issued. this batch made in Feb. '67 and I have some made in May '70.
    Have a good one,

Good stuff. BRAYCO 300 is one of the current versions used in the aviation industry. Costs about twice as much as you are paying though.

I also think that all the hype about "new&improved" is just a way to sell the newest&best.(although, I have been known to succumb to the ads). Used LSA in the early 70's and it was AND IS great stuff. USMC 69-71.

It should work well. it is most likely mineral based.
We took a huge jump with lubes when we discovered synthetic oil.
Lubricates into tighter areas. wears longer.
