    Time out

Is there a time out feature on the site? Several times while navigating through various forums and posts I find that I have to log back in. I don't get a notification that I have logged out, I happen to look at the top banner and can't see the features I normally see?
    Thanks

Try clicking the remember me box when you log in. I'm not aware of a time out feature.

The forum uses a browser cookie to remember your login. If you delete the cookie, you need to log back in. Don't ask how I know.

That is the time-out feature. I don't remember what it's set at but, if you don't check the "Remember Me" box when you log in, the forum will log you off after a certain period of inactivity. That's the key -- as long as you keep clicking the mouse and moving around through the site, it "sees" activity and keeps you logged in. If you stop to read a long post or to compose a long-ish response -- it doesn't see typing as activity, and when it's time to submit your post -- you find that you've been logged off.
