    Military 1911s may come to the market via CMP

    It appears that the US military is going to sell their 1911s through the Civilian Marksmanship Program!

    This has been rumored for awhile, but this is only moving the bill out of committee. It still has to pass the House of Representatives and the Senate, and then be signed by the President, before becoming reality.

    I have my fingers crossed. I'm eligible to purchase from the CMP and I'd love to be able to buy a genuine U.S. Army 1911 from them. I hope it happens.

    [Edit to add} I just received an e-mail blast from the CMP. Among other updates and announcements was the following:
