Government Series 70 .45 Cleaning DVD...

    Hello All...

Just joined this group, and look forward to reading many, many posts on the M1911. My first group question is that of finding a good website or DVD with video on step-by-step instructions on how to take apart and put back together our Series 70 .45. Any input on where to get the DVD or video training along with where to buy a manual too would be appreciated. Thanks...

Go to our Home Page Site at http://www.m1911.org/m1911dt.htm.

The seventh item in the menu at the left is "Disassembly." You'll also find excellent articles on maintenance and lubrication.

As to the manual, assuming that by "Series 70" you mean a Colt pistol (since "Series 70" is a Colt model designation, call Colt's 800 number and they'll send you a manual for free.

Brownell's is always a good place to look http://www.brownells.com/gunsmith-to...1911&ksubmit=y

For 1911 lube/cleaning, I've found these pretty helpful and I've linked to them for folks recently…
