I have a fine collection of Colts probably worth over $30k by now. Needless to say I'm a lover of the 1911 in all forms. I purchased this AO because it has that US Army issue look nothing special just a sidearm to defend yourself with. I had the Mainspring loop added at the time I purchased. It is a very respectful firearm. I also have a Kimber Warrior, Remington R1, ATI, and Springfield Mil Spec besides over 30 Colts the AO rounds out my collection.

Nothing against the pistol which you have, but I think that you would find the newer Auto-Ordnance 1911A1 (made since Auto-Ordnance was purchased by Kahr) to be both a more well-made gun and also a more accurate reproduction of the USGI Model 1911A1. I replaced my trigger with a shorter USGI trigger, removed the Series 80 firing pin block, blued the barrel hood, and put on some period-correct Colt stocks. It's not quite one of my Colts, but it's still a dandy.
