Question New STI Duty One 3.0-45 - sights question

    Impulse buy last night...
I ended up coming home with a brand new STI Duty One 3.0-45!

    Two issues...

(1.) I also picked up a Fobus holster that fits the rail gun, and have already notice significant holster wear on the finish, even though I only test fitted the holster several times. I've emailed STI, and am anxiously awaiting a response. I'm hoping this isn't normal. I don't want to have to refinish this expensive pistol...

(2.) The main reason for my post is the sights.

The rear is a STI Ledge Style Rear. It looks like a lo-mount Novak cut, although the rear sight is adjustable. And the front is a STI Ramped Front. Again, it looks like a Novak dove-tail cut. They are both serrated black (no dots, etc).

I'm looking to put night sights on the pistol.

    Are the cuts "Novak"?
And the sights I'm looking at come in various sizes for the 3" 1911's:
    .260 front / .500 rear
    .270 front / .500 rear
    or (for the 5")
    .260 front / .450 rear
    .270 front / .450 rear

What do I need? What do those measurements mean, and/or how do I measure?

    Thanks gentlemen!

I got this info off their web sight, I didn't see the rear sight dimensions, but if you ask their rep. I'm sure he could get that info for you.

Q: What is the dimension of the dovetail cut for your front sight?

    A: All our front sights are .300″ X .060″ X 60 degrees.

Q: What is your front sight blade width?

A: The competition width is .110″ while the carry width is .120″.

Congrats on your new Duty One.

    Thanks Kenny Lee!

    I didn't explore the FAQ's...

So it appears the cuts are different than the Novak.
