Saw a Norc at a pawn shop

Went by my local pawn shop and saw they had a Norinco, and I got very excited. I think the shop owner was asking like $500usd for it. I got home and realized that the gun was blued, and that older Norcs are parkerized. In addition, when I ejected the magazine and went to slide it back in, it caught about halfway in and I had to give it some UMPH to seat it.

Should I stay away from this gun? Thanks guys

It would have to be in pretty fair condition to fetch $500, but that price is generally not out of line for the Norinco.
As far as the mag issue, it might be just the mag itself.

On one hand it seems/sounds like you did not actually purchase it, but since you mention you "got it home" I'm guessing you did indeed buy it?

    Thanks for your response!

I meant once I got home, I did not end up purchasing it. I was a little worried because of the mag issue but maybe it was just the magazine. The gun was immaculate, it looked like it hadn't been fired (atleast externally).

I'm a super careful shopper so I rarely buy anything without having as much knowledge as possible. I have a Rock in 9mm right now, but I really want to go up to .45!

I have an early Norinco 1911A1 and it's not parkerized. Mine is blued. The opposite of bluing because the flats are dull and the rounded areas are glossy. If it's like new in box, no scratches, clean, I'd say $450 tops.

Oh okay, I didn't realize there were some blued ones from the earlier run. Yeah, I was hoping to get the owner down to around 500. Maybe I can do $450 plus an old dvd player haha.
