I've had very good luck using Unique in my .45ACP plinking loads.

Using a Speer 230gr. TMJ (Total Metal Jacket) bullets, Winchester cases, and CCI #300 primers, I use 6.1 grains of Unique. I seat to an OAL of 1.260 and taper crimp to .471". The loads have been utterly reliable out of my 5" Colt Custom Shop Series 70 repro and Springfield Armory Mil-Spec. Across my Chrony, I get an average of 802fps. Unique's a little dirtier than other powders that I've used for .45ACP, but seems to work fine.
