    Angry 1911 Model 108285

I field stripped it then went to re assemble it & when I got it back together, The grip safety will not depress & when I squeeze the trigger the hammer does not drop. The manual says that while reassembling the gun do not depress the grip safety. So I took it apart again & reassembled it without pressing or touching the grip safety at all. But same thing is happening. when squeezing the grip safety it does not depress & I press the trigger the hammer does not fall. I field stripped this gun once before & re assembled it with no problem like I just described. It must be something simple that I am not doing.? Any help will be appreciated.

The first time it happened, had you previously lowered the hammer, when the gun was field-stripped? I'm thinking your hammer strut may be out of position.
Too many people miss the silver lining because they're expecting gold.

When checking the hammer strut, make sure the sear spring is in the bottom notch and installed correctly before installing the mainspring housing into position.
