Looks like the lug is too long, and I was unwilling to perform the timing/fitting work involve in changing it.

It's been replaced by an HK USP 45.

    End of problem.

    End of story.

An excellent choice in a .45 Automatic Pistol.

There is no finer pistol made than the HK USP

    Absolutely reliable.

The only downsides are the magazines are expensive, and leather is hard to find. But you will not regret getting an HK.

Are you gong to change your name?

TRP's are excellent weapons, and Springfield offers the original purchaser one of the best warrantees in the industry. But give Remington's CS a shot before you write off the entire platform.

I've had and carried a TRP for years without any problem. It's been 100% reliable and more accurate than I'll ever be.

Why would he change his name? The USP is still a .45.

One thing that helped all my 45's were replacing all my magazine with Chip Mc Cormick units. They feed 230 grain HB, Hollow Point ,Black Talon, and Hornady Critical Defense. No more FTF or stovepipe.

I'll add that I am for the most part a Colt gal. I have a lot of Colt's and enjoy them a lot. I'm somewhat of a 1911 addict and was quite pleasantly surprised at the build quality, reliability and accuracy of my stainless TRP and Trophy Match that I consider them my bet production 1911's. The TRP is my first choice for house gun and game gun right now.
