    RJHensley: So many choices

Howdy RG Hensley! Sorry I couldn't answer your previous thread right away. I too, recently joined the forum, and like you, just aquired an R1. I'm not a newbie to the 1911. Carried one in 2 hitches in the army, including combat in 'Nam. So, as I was inspecting and handling a bunch of types, I was impressed when the R1 came into my hand. There's just "something" about it, the heft and the feel, that was like an old buddy coming back home. This pistol may not be the one for the next person posting, but for this person it is the right one. Insection from the outside on in has shown me a well machined firearm. The "new" firing pin block stuff is new to me but nothing I can't deal with. With the upgrades included even on the standard, it is indeed an amazing buy for a high quality entry level piece. No rattle or slop anywhere. Everything functioning as smooth as silk. I will be more confident when I've had the chance to put some through the tube, but I know that if any prob is encountered, Remington and I will get it adjusted and corrected. Hope your new one is also a beaut out of the case. Stay in touch.
