    commander?

    like an idiot I sold my 1911pd a while ago , so I thought I'd get another so I went to the S&W sight and didn't see much for commanders.Are they not making them anymore?

    They still make the commander in the new E-series, SC. If you want a pd you can still find some with very low miles, but they are bringing more than they were new. I got my pd for 650 out the door in 07. Best of luck and hope you find what ya looking for.

    I just bought a used 1911pd, I paid more than you did when yours was new. How does the 1911pd compare to the lightweight commanders that are available now? Ed

    Glad I bought my Gunsite PD new when I did! I paid $850 new in like 2005.

    also, you can SSE the pistol if you can find a ffl dealer that does it.
