    Need Confirmation on Magazine Markings

    Hello,

I've been looking for original tapered-lip magazines for a certain load I make.

I found some, and would like to make sure they're genuine.

    The markings are thus:

    19200-

    ASSY 5508694

    MFR. IM291

I think these are CheckMate surplus mags. Can someone confirm? As well, is there a way to tell what date these were made?

I really like the tapered feed lips for ball and such, and would like to increase my supply. I keep the hybrid and wadcutter profiled lips for hollowpoint carry.

    Thank you,

    Josh

1M291 (not IM291) is the CAGE code for Checkmate. I do not believe there is any way to date them once they are out of the original Checkmate gov-spec packaging.

    Hi Walt, thanks.

Took another look at the picture and it is indeed 1M291.

De nada. I'd forgotten about this thread:

...wherein 1911 magazines are decoded . I'm a Checkmate fanboy so 1M291 is my friend .

Drain holes, or lack of, date Check-Mate magazines somewhat:
