New here and to 1911s
Don't get me wrong, I'm a gun nut. But I never thought I would find something more addicting then Custom Knives. Well, I was wrong. I did. I held a friend's Loaded Springer, then shot it. WOW! I gotta get one of these. After almost a year, I just bought a 1911 today. A Sig XO S/S. Limited run of 250. So, where do I go from here. Well, I'm going to enjoy my new 1911 for a while. But, I'm already thinking about the next one. I like the Wilson Knives and so I'm sure a Wilson, LB or Nighthawk will be the next. Thats just the way it goes for for me. Out of the frying pan, into the fire. LOL

Glad to be here.

I'm Baack
Boy and does it feel good. Kids are grown and gone, and now I can get back all the firearms I sold over the years to take care of the family. I have been shooting off and on now since I sold most everything. Used to shoot 2 to 3 times a week. Now I go with my son, and it is more fun than before too. Plus, even with glasses, I can still hit what I am aiming at. Guess it is like riding a bike. I am excited to get back to a couple of times a week. I am going to start by purchasing another three gun outfit so I can try and compete again with my stock stuff against the folks with the money for the cool stuff. Anyway, glad to be back.

Hello folks
New guy here. I've always loved firearms but kinda got away from them after my father died. Since then the fever has pulled me back in. I have alway been a fan of the 1911 and recently purchase 1 for Christmas and My wife just got me another one a couple days ago from a friend that needed to sell. I hope to learn a lot of information from everyone...Thanks.

Just got a "bug" to look into 1911s and discovered this site. I'm considering my first 45 purchase. (I have most calibers from .17HMR to .44Mag.) I like the looks of the Springfields and Para Ordinance firearms. Any input from members would be greatly appreciated. Best, Fred

New Guy
Looks like a great site and I look forward to learning a lot about the 1911. I just aquired an old military model from my wife's Godfather and I want to learn as much about it as I can!
