Here are 2 of my 3 Norcs. The hardchromed one is pretty much finished, the Caspian Damascus one still needs to go in for cherkering, hard chroming the frame and fitting a bull barrel. I have another Norc that'll get more of the same but also get fitted with a comped barrel, just cause they're so much fun to shoot.

Norc 1 has an EGW fiber optic front sight.

This turned out nice...

Norc 2 is still a work in progress. I had to shape the rear of the slide and it'll have to get another acid bath to show off the damascene. Goodies on these two consist of Ed Brown, Greider, EGW, Heinie, Nowlin, Wilson, STI titanium and Cylinder & Slide. I did the trigger work and they both break crisp and clean at 2.25#. One additional note, the Caspian fit on the Norc with NO fitting work to the rails and no slop. Pretty cool.

Nice job on the norc's very very nice. I had posted a question about slide refinishing in a different thread and seems that you would be the fellow to possibly offer some advice....if you have a chance could you look at my post.
In regards to trigger pull pressure....does changing out the sear spring complete this or is there other factors that must be taken into account? At present mine is definately quite a few pounds (stock) which I think is what is causing the pull to the right on target shooting when pulling the trigger a little quicker than anticipated.
Thanks
Rob

Well, it really helps to have top quality ignition parts. I use Cylinder & Slide. As an absolute, you can bring your pull down by just adjusting the sear spring, but that doesn't address the quality of the break. Also there are safety factors in having a really light sear spring but a poor sear engagement. This might result in hammer following or having the thing go full auto if your half cock isn't.

Very, very nice work sanger00verdun. One day I'm hoping to do a Damascus slide set of builds. I've got a lot to learn and a long way to go before I'll risk tooling on an expensive Damascus slide, but I've already felt the pull of a Damascus beauty in my future "gotta have" list. Hehe.
Only one quick comment and not trying to be critical at all, interested in your choice of technique...
Is there a reason you haven't tooled the front slide dovetail to contour with the curve of the slide?
I'm expecting the answer to probably have to do with the ability to move or remove the sight being simplified by leaving the flat surface on the dovetail of the sight, but not entirely sure that may be the case. Just curious.
The work is awsome. Again, very nicely done.

Very nice looking pieces.... and I thought my Norc's were pieces of work. I restored one recently, but not to the extent that yours have undergone. I will show mine as soon as I can get my software squared away. I keep flashing back to some poor little Chinese engineer back in China looking at your photos saying.."are those ours"..?? The stocks appear to be of carbon fiber..?? Whose are they..??

That's it exactly. The EGW sight is not pinnable therefore it's a hard press fit and in order to move it I need that full shoulder height. Once I've had it sighted in I can file it flush. That's a real benefit to hard chrome. As long as I'm soft with the file I can take the sight ears flush and the hard chrome won't show it.
The grips are Larry Davidson's. Here's the M-1911 page:

Thank you sanger00verdun for your reply. I've been pondering that very front sight delimma myself and wanted to see if I was on the right track. The work is absolutely gorgeous and I appreciate you sharing it with us. The effort shows in the build and that Damascus slide is simply elegant class. :D

Men you make/finish very NICE guns, have you consider building gun for a living?
Keep it up and maybe in the future when you customized Norks for other people, then you'll hear me knocking at you shop...

Thanks for all the compliments. Credit should go where it's due and the checkering and hard crhome work were done by Virgil Tripp at Tripp Research. I highly recommend him for any chroming work.
Forgot to post this pic:
I had the barrel cut flush and recrowned. I think it's pretty cool looking.

These Norc projects are the funnest things I've done so far with 1911's. Here a link to a long post where this project got its start.
