The initial production run totaled 45 units and they are almost sold out. (https://store.bluebookinc.com/Firearms/GunOfWeek.aspx?industry=1&article=93)
Quo vadis?
What about making a sticky picture thread?

This looks to be an awesome product.

I just learned about Cabot Guns last night via this forum. I've read the CGI/Classic review and have searched all over the place for more information. I like the traditional look and classic design of the CG/Classic. One of those looks like it might be in my future.

I had the pleasure of speaking with them at SHOT and they were a blast to talk with. They are truly passionate about their work and it shows.....
Great product and great people.... can't ask for much more!

I ordered a Cabot today, a RangeMaster with gold dot front sight, tri star trigger, and the grips cut down to slim size. Because of Cabot's "clone technology" I am told I will have it in just a few weeks, which really excites me. I am 2.5 years and getting close on my last custom M1911. With the clone technology I can purchase a slide from say a "Mr. Jones" and have a perfect fitting two tone pistol. I was also so impressed because I called to order a National Standard Deluxe ($7500) and after a 40 minute phone call I was asked about how I was going to use the firearm and based on his recommendation I decided on the RangeMaster ($5000). How often do you go to place an order and have someone on the other end suggest a $2500 lower priced item. Who does, someone who knows their product and desires very satisfied customers. I was very impressed at every level and it was only a few hundred more than my last custom m1911. I am counting the days

I am impressed. At WC, for a Supergrade, you would have to wait more than one year.
Probably not only because of clone tech but also because they don't have the same big back order queue as Wilson.
Since I cannot accept to wait one year for a semi-custom gun,
I am really considering buying a 1911 from Cabot.
As soon you have it, please post some pictures here!
Again, @moderator, what about to be prepared with a sticky picture thread?

That's indeed an impressive scenario. Looking forward to your evaluation.

Nice! As far as I know you'll be the first member here to purchase one. Please post pics when you get it and the Cabot photo sticky can get underway. Looking forward to your report! :D

Would love to read a range report after you get it. Plus your personal opinion of the gun...

I will, I hate posting only because I hate taking pictures. I just ordered a photo box to see if that will help my picture taking. So here it goes, I will post a review on my Pistol Dynamics (in another thread) and my Clarke Custom "Millennium Meltdown" Their 50th anniversary M1911 that will be limited because I am hesitant to fire enough rounds for a complete review. I will also attempt to photograph the "family" for some background on my obsession for M1911's.

So Cabot Guns received my order and deposit and I am on the clock. I was told to expect my pistol in 30 days. 30 DAYS I am 2 years 7 months and waiting on one, 2 years on another over a year on a third, I don't need to tell anyone here but 30 DAYS!. So here we go that is only 720 hours...

I posted a photo and a little background and wanted to update my Cabot. So on my Cabot I added a jeweled barrel and magazine at Rob Bianchin recommendation. I have received a few emails from Rob, it really impresses me that the President of the company takes the time to contact and make personal recommendations to me. I feel like I am being welcomed into the Cabot Family, I can even go visit if I want to. So even if they are a day or 2 longer than the 30 days I cant see anything making me an unhappy customer.

Rob is a very courteous person.
If you write an email, he won't let you wait for days to have an answer.
He takes the time to read the whole email and he will answer all questions.
And believe me, my emails are long, very long...
Some other well known semi-custom companies don't answer emails
at all (they are soooooo busy) or they only answer 10% of your questions.

Well, I got my Jones 1911. I will be going out this weekend or next to fire the gun. I'm going to try and post a picture here but I'm not sure if it's going to work or not. http://i1247.photobucket.com/albums/gg624/Deathbringer2011/1a.jpg

Well, I got my Jones 1911.
Welcome to the forum. Wow, this is a historic post. Don't believe I've ever seen a customer's Cabot posted before and certainly not as their 1st Forum post. :appld: Congrats on your new pistol, I love those stocks.

After just 16 days I received the following email from the President of Cabot Guns Rob Bianchin, There have been several times after 16 days my emails at other manufactures dont even get answered. Here my M1911 is basically done and the president updates me.
"Your gun was completed, assembled and tested, however, we noticed a small scuff on the front sight so it has to be replaced. The good news is we anticipate your gun will be ready early. I'll confirm when it is ready for shipment."
The business world and the gun community would be a much better place if everyone followed Rob's example.

You know,I caught a LOT of flack from people on various forums for my belief that this company brought something new and unique to the market.
Thanks for validating what I have felt for a while now.

I took out the Jones 1911 today and fired it. So did the wife. I will take pictures of the targets and post them with a description of distances and ammuntion. Just to let everyone know this is the first time the wife and I ever fired a 1911. And as far as my accuracy, I would not recommend riding an ATV before shooting, because I get worse as I go LOL. I'll also post more pictures of the gun itself.
