Greetings! I recently read a magazine article that stated that Nighthawk was switching from cast slides and frames to forged slides and frames. Has anyone else heard this or a time frame?

You can specify the type of frame you want. If you want a custom serial number, for exampe, you can only have it on a cast frame.

John, did you ever get to the bottom of your serial number question? Just curious. :confused:

Well, I am sorry to say, that I am that close to cancelling that Talon. It looks as if the Gods of 1911s do not want me to have a custom pistol.

What happened? Import problems?

Some misunderstanding between me and Craig, makes me think twice about the deal, not about the pistol itself.

John,
I had a bit of a screw up with mine. It was supposed to be without front cocking serrations, and no logos or other markings on the slide.
Craig said that it was his mistake, and he would change if I wanted.
You know, the FCS are starting to grow on me, and as for the logos, what the heck, they aren't that bad.
If you decide to go ahead with the deal, I know that you'll love the gun. I do understand your problem with getting anything "fixed" if it isn't just right, though.

Please do not misunderstand me. Craig is willing to make my pistol the way I want it, no problem there. It's just that at this moment, his suggestion to pay me cash instead of the pistol is very attractive to me, due to my current financial situation. So, it's hard to come up with a decision. On one hand I want that pistol very much (obviously) on the other hand, I could use the money to cover family needs. Decisions, decisions, decisions! LoL

John;

Maybe a language issue for me but are you saying that if you cancel, Craig is willing to refund your deposit, and not make the pistol?

Is this due to the increased cost due to the specifications you desired in this custom make?

No, no, it's a bit more complicated. You see, the Talon was/is the payment for some advertisement that NHC has bought in the Home Page. Unfortunatelly, due to Craig's overload, the pistol that was build for me, was not as I had requested it to be. I wrote to Craig, and he recognised his mistake. Admitedly, we have exchanged a lot of emails, to finalize the specs, so it was not difficult to get out of specs. So Craig asked me to send him one final email, with all the specs I wanted, so that my pistol would be build from scratch, based on these final specs.

I did that, and I send exactly the same specs which I had send before. At this point though, it seems that Craig paid a little more attention, and some of them sounded extreme to him. So he suggested that he pays for the advertisement, instead of building the gun.

The problem is not if Craig can and wants to make the pistol as I want it to be, the problem is now that his suggestion to pay for the advertisement catches me in a difficult period, where money are needed. So it's hard for me to make up my mind, on what to take, the gun or the money.

So, there, now you have all the details. I repeat, it's not Craig's fault, it's not that I do not want the pistol, it's not that Craig doesn't want to build the pistol for me, it's a personal problem that I have, and Craig's suggestion came at that point in time, when I am weak.

John;

You are not weak, you are being reasonable. As you stated you "want" the gun. Not that you NEED the gun.

Family and finances always should come first. I suggest we all get the case of the "wants" every now and then. NH will be there for another order on another day. Of course you could always offer additional advertising, say double it and have both worlds ;-)

As you see, I've already done my best! If there were more NHC banners here, people would think they are in the wrong site! LoL

No, I am proud of the collaboration with NHC, I think they deserve all the help we can give them, I've never heard one bad word about their guns.

John, I fully understand your problem!
I have a rule, never sale a gun to buy a gun.
.....But, With heating costs and medical bills and wanting to keep my house, I was faced with only one option, to open the safe and sale some guns. Not good, but they are building new guns every day!
NightHawk Customs are great guns, I will have some, just not now.

I agree with Matt!
I think we've all been in the same situation as John.
