Ladies and Gentlemen,

I was introduced to the .45 ACP in Vietnam in 1967. Spent a few years with the Phoenix P.D. carrying a .38 Smith & Wesson revolver (never fired in anger) back in the '70's. Traded the last of my long guns for a very early National Match Colt 1911 about 1990. I started shooting actively in USPSA matches around the Valley of the Sun (A-21336) and finished my competitive career at the 1995 Limited Nationals (finished 3rd. in D Class).

I am the proud owner of two .45 ACP competition guns that haven't seen the light of day in about 10 years. I recently learned that my guns, built in the early '90's by an AZ gunsmith, may have turned into investments as well well as being pieces of art...lucky me.

I left the shooting business because of a very unfortunate incident involving an armed robbery/homicide and some of the guys who were were club members at the time.

My reason to associate with the site is because I miss my old shooting buddies and I am guessing that even if I don't shoot that much any more I have always appreciated the art of the 1911 and I will no doubt find some other guys who share my interest here.

You don't have to shoot one (M1911) to like it!
