Hello all, I just signed up for the site and wanted to give a short intro.
I've owned a number of handguns and rifles for most of my life but never a 1911 until recently. This past Christmas I received an excellent 1911 from my father. I'm trying to find out as much about the operational ends and outs of the weapon as possible.
When asking around, this site was mentioned as a really good resource for information. Having already read some posts on here before signing up, it also seemed like the majority of individuals on here legitimately attempted to share their thoughts in a courteous way (which is becoming rarer and rarer on the internet these days).
I'm looking forward to participating on the site (expect questions to be forthcoming after I catch up on older posts which I'm sure have already answered some of the generic questions I have lol).
