I found an Ithaca that is stamped Wilson on the Barrel Bushing. Everything is super tight. It looks to have had a trigger job, extended grip safety, checkered cocobolo grips, match barrel, different springs, an 8 shot magazine, the frame in front of the grip and below the trigger is knurled, an adjustable trigger stop, and a very very light trigger.

Anyone have any thoughts on this pistol? It looks like it was an Ithaca that was sent to Wilson to be gone over, probably a few years ago.

The shop has had this used gun for quite a while, with a price tag of around $1600, but are willing to work with me. Any idea of what the work would be worth? I have a nice SpringField Mil-Spec, but this Ithaca seems really really tight. I actually had trouble getting it apart.

It would appear that it WAS sent to Wilson for a re-build. If that is the case then it would be a good investment.

red-beard, is there any paper work from Wilson with the gun? I have a Colt that was customized by them and Wilson Combat is engraved on the side of the frame. There should be a test target with a job number.
I have heard of people selling "custom" guns from Wilson that were built by another gunsmith, or a home made job.
If there is no paperwork I would be wary. You can buy a new Les Bear or find some good used Wilson's with all the paper work for 1600.00

They have it listed for $1600, and I am pretty sure they will sell it to me for much less, since it's been in inventory for over a year. If it is more than $1000, it will continue to be in thier inventory.

No paperwork. Just some sort of bag. A little more research reveals it's a 50th anniversary Ithaca and I forgot to mention it has the ring hammer and 8 shot mag. Wilson is only on the bushing.
