Welcome USmonylover... Looks like your newness here just won you the award for learning some of John's "unwritten" lessons of the forum. It's OK. We don't hold it against you that you did not know that none of the M1911.org forum folks own Commander pistols. We just store them for John...oh and keep them clean too. LOL

The M1991A1 was the first Commander that I owned, and that was after having several Gov't Models for almost 30 years. I've had a few since. Like most of our other Colt members I thought the M1991A1 was a nice pistol.

We do have custody of "one of John's" in .38 Super. Instead of the M1991A1 it is rollmarked "COMMANDER" on the left; and .38 Super on the right. Also have a 9mm barrel and magazine for it.
