This is my NP 29 in 9MM. May leave stock. Sights are adequate but can't for the life of me understand why Norinco just doesn't put a Noval/Heinie type sight on the gun. They copy everything else.

At last My Own Twins! Just got my 2nd Norinco last night.

The new one is on the top of your screen. Went to the range right away after cleaning it and shot 100 rounds of Armscor FMJ with no failure at all. Shoots just like my 1st Norinco. Only the grips were replaced. Very happy and at least now I have my own set of twins. :)

Hope I did that right.

a $250 Norinco. I'd like to replace all of the springs. The barrel and slide lugs are in good shape. No excessive play. The three dot sights are in poor shape. No real plan at this point what I really want to do with it. So its in the safe for now..... I haven't even shot the gun yet.

Pretty much stock except the grips, since I didn't like the Hogues. I would like to get different (combat) sights and replace the safety. Other than that it shoots pretty strait and is reliable. I've shot hundreds of rounds of filthy reloads and then it cycles through the hollowpoints.

Here is my Norinco.
I bought it at a pawn shop in 1993 for $180.00!

It shoots very well. I went shooting with a friend of mine, he brought his Kimber and I borught my ugly duckling Norinco...hehe I out shot him and he out shot himself with my gun. He was not happy.

Over the past several years, I put the grips, sights, tail, hammer and trigger on it. I run a full length rod and MecGar mags. Original barrel has a few thousand rounds thorugh it and it still shoots anything I feed it...My favorite pistol.

I am new to this forum and new to Norinco. I ran up on a 1911A1 in a pawn shop Sunday afternoon. The Nork appeared new and unfired for $335 out the door. I was not up on the Norks, so I spent several hours on the internet doing research. I found the best information on this forum. I was also impressed with attidudes and the lack of gun snobs. This thing has a quality feel to it, and will hand feed big mouth Gold Dots with no problem.

its a 9mm np29 , i fitted new stainless steel ambi safteys , slide release , extended mag release , novak read sight , it had a clark type front dovetail blade sight fitted , nowlin trigger kit , a wilson group gripper guide rod , some flash wood grips and made an aluminium mag well like the rescomp magwell on my para , took a while but it as wide as a double stacker in the mouth .... shoots quite well and only cost about $400 us all up to do .....

Well it's not that I'm ashamed of my Norinco but I've always wanted to remove the "exported by norinco" and "made in china" stamps on the frame.

Well I finally got around to it, about 6 hours... over two days.


Removed the stamps with a diamond stone.

Then took off the rest of the blueing with some casey blueing remover and evened out the metal with open mesh abrasive strips.

Here's mine.

I Just replaced the trigger with a wilson combat trigger, changed to wooden grips, replaced grip screws with wilson combat stainless allen head, and had the hammer, slide stop, thumbsafety, grip safety and mainspring housing hard chromed. Everything else is stock.:D

I'm not a blingmeister. My pleasure is shooting, load development, tinkering to improve function/reliability, and more shooting. So all my guns are plain Janes. Sorry to disappoint, but that is how I like 'em.

Trouble is that ever since I bought my first two 1911s, we've had bitter cold and snow cover. I've concluded that winter is for revolvers!

Here is a photo of both my .45s. The Colt Series 70 came with the modifications you see -- got a deal on a surface worn pistol. both shoot well, but, like I said, I'm waiting for some better weather to fine-tune loads.

Very nice photos, the variety and creativity of the Nork crowd is truly amazing. Here are a couple pics of my Norinco. I bought it in, I think, 1993 fresh off the boat and didn't do much except get the ramp polished, chamber throated and trigger job. Since then this pistol has fed any thing from military ball to flying ashtrays without complaint. Based on some advice in the parts forum I've added some comfort and cosmetic parts, continues to shoot great and looks good too. I'd like to refinish but I think I'll wait until I wear off more of the bluing.

Hi I'm new.

My Norinco 1911A1C isn't new, but I think it's pretty. The poor thing get gussied up every so often when I feel like a change of pace. Currently it is my IDPA gun. One stage it was my daily carry gun.

Since new it's had PT night sights installed, bevelled mag well, Chip Mcormack trigger and a Wolf recoil spring installed. I've recently installed a Norinco flat mainspring housing. The rest is stock.

Oh and it's been blued once. It was Parkerized.

Hi first time poster,

Just picked up my first gun and its a 1911.

Couldnt get a brand new one (im a student with not much money) so i got myself a norinco (from the suggestions on this forum their cheaper and just as good)

Got this norinco and made a couple of small modifications, changed the sights, the grips and the slide catch.

Norinco 1911A1 Target/Police model. I've changed out the grips for wood ones and also installed a standard slide stop. Since the photo I've also swapped out the big button mag release for a standard one. Just have to get a McCormick aluminum adjustable trigger for it, though:

This is a great site and I'm learning a lot about my beloved Norinco .45. I had no idea why I hadn't seen any more for sae here for so long, until I read it here on this site. I thought I'd drop a line and say "here's mine" It's stock except for the grips. I've put quit a few rounds through it over the years with little to no problems. I'm taking the CHL class next weekend and it'll be what I'll carry.

my gunsmith did a few touches we replaced the stock iron front sight with a green fiber optic sight.

the gunsmith also did the 20 lpi checkering and hard chrome of the main spring housing

other mods are changing from blued to polish chrome (barrel bushing and plug, full size guide rod, beavertail grip safety, hammer, ambi safety, extractor, firing pin stop, magazine release, trigger and slide stop).
the stock recoil spring which is at 16 lbs. were also changed to 14 lbs and put a shock buff in it.
i also got a hogue rubber grips for para 14.45 that fits well to my norc.

This is my first post, so don't bite me too hard :p

Here is my Norinco 45 ACP Government M1911. Decided to get and extended mag and installed a break in the barrel for less recoil and some flash reduction. Decided to take the break off my service pistol from the Marines and keep it on this which I carry at all times when i'm off duty. Its a very reliable handgun and i've never had any problems with it. Highly recommended. :D
