This is my Ruger SR1911 after 500 rounds of hardball.

I've had this thing for awhile, but decided I'd give it a good tryout before posting anything about it. That way I avoided all the "where's the pictures?" and where's the "range report?" issues. There are only 500 rounds of brass in the picture, but it's actually had 600 thru it now.
Initial impressions:
This gun is nice and tight. No play in the slide or barrel or at the barrel bushing. It can be field stripped without using the bushing wrench, but it's tight enough that it's easier to use it. The whole gun is bead blasted and it gives it a nice even satin sheen. I'm not sure what recoil spring it has in it, but it's HEAVY. It takes a lot of effort to rack the slide. The grips are cocobolo, but are darker than most I've seen. The right grip is almost black. It came with one 7 and one 8 round magazine. I ordered an additional 7 round mag from Ruger. The magazines have Ruger's logo on them, but I think they are made by Checkmate. I know for sure the follower is, because it has the same patent number as some other Checkmate magazines I have.
At the range:
Initially, I only shot my 230 gr. FMJ reloads through it. That's the 500 rounds you see in the picture. The sights were dead on at 15 yards. I haven't tried shooting beyond that range. The trigger is faily light - 4.5 pounds with just a bit of creep. It's improved over time - 600 rounds and a few hundred dry fires. What can I say? It's a Ruger - every hardball round has fed, fired and ejected with no issues. I used all 3 Ruger mags, plus a Springfield Armory, a Taurus, Chip McCormick Power Mag and 2 S&W Checkmate mags. They all worked fine. I tried some of my lead SWC reloads in it and had a few failures to feed. The shoulder on the SWCs catch on the feed ramp. Then I noticed that the box of ammo I was using was seated out farther than usual. Evidently my seating stem came loose and backed out a ways. I'll load some more right and try these again. It was a long wait to get this gun - 4 months, but it was worth it. It's a pretty nice 1911.
50 rounds at 7 yards:
These were CCI brass, CCI 300 Primers, 6.2 Gr Win AutoComp and Win 230 gr FMJ bullets.
