View Full Version : Another left handed question

I was reading the Basic Field Manual (FM 23-25) online. It had a note that the rifling in the 1911A1 caused a slight drift to the left, but that was compenstated for by trigger pull when fired from the right hand.

Am I setting myself up for something bad here? I'm way more accurate left handed than right with the other pistols that I shoot (Kahr K40, Beretta 92fs). Just to explain, I'm naturally a right hander. I tore a tendon in my right thumb and had to switch to lefty. Maybe it's a dominant eye thing, maybe I'm just not using bad habits that I'd picked up right handed, but the groupings are tighter and I'm hitting the point of aim a lot better.

Thanks,
Mike

I don't think it is going to be that serious of a problem. Lots of left handed shooters out there and they seem to do just fine with the 1911.

I do not think that the rifling will cause any detrimental effects to your accuracy. Don't worry about it.
