I saw an officers model online that I may be interested in, but don't know as much about them as I would like. The slide is polished stainless, the frame looks like a matte finish. It doesn't mention being lightweight. Would the serial number LF06490E tell me whether it's lightweight or not? thanks, George

I'm going to guess that the 'L' indicates a lightweight, and that the final 'E' is for "Enhanced."
Slanted cocking serrations?

Thanks for the response. The L and E make sense. Yes, it does have the slanted serrations. What does that tell you?

My understanding is that the slanted serations are one of the identifying marks of an enhanced model. Another is a flat top on the slide rather than a rounded top. I have a model number but I can't find it right now. I got this information researching my LWE Officers.
I found what I was looking for and it follows:
"Enhanced" Model O's had the flat top slide, angled cocking serrations, elongated hammers (on some models), beavertails, 3 1/2" Barrel, manufactured 1992-1997. Mine also has Hogue Rubber grips w/finger guides. I don't know if this is original or aftermarket.
